MOSQUITO SQUAD TEAMS UP WITH MALARIA NO MORE IN THE DRIVE TOWARD NEAR ZERO MALARIA DEATHS BY 2015

As the weather turns warmer, Mosquito Squad, North America’s largest and most trusted mosquito elimination and tick control company, is joining forces with Malaria No More to help the organization achieve its goal of ending malaria deaths in Africa.

Mosquito Squad, who has committed more than $50,000 to the effort, is mounting a local campaign to underscore the need for mosquito nets in Africa via its nearly 100 franchisees, it was announced today by Scott Zide, president of Outdoor Living Brands, the parent company for Mosquito Squad.

While malaria was eradicated in the U.S. more than 50 years ago, it continues to take the life of a child every minute. In fact, more than 650,000 people die every year from malaria, with 86 percent of those deaths occurring in children. The good news is that malaria is preventable and treatable – and with a simple tool like a $10 bed net, up to two children can be protected from the deadly disease.

“We are so fortunate that parents in our country don’t worry about the possibility of their children contracting malaria,” said Zide.  “At Mosquito Squad, we can’t think of a better organization that fits with our values and our corporate goals of making our world a better, safer place to live, not only in backyards across America but in the villages of Africa, as well.”

“Mosquito Squad has been a tremendous partner in the fight against malaria,” said David Bowen, CEO of Malaria No More. “Their continued support means more families sleeping safely under mosquito nets and more support of the malaria community working tirelessly to ensure we reach our goal of ending deaths from malaria.”
