World Economic Forum

Malaria No More was in Davos, Switzerland this week to meet with world business leaders at the World Economic Forum and urge their continued support of malaria control efforts. In a time of economic uncertainty, a smart investment is one that will yield high results—and no investment today is more promising than the opportunity to join in the fight against malaria in Africa.

While in Davos, Malaria No More and the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria launched the Malaria Capital Campaign, an initiative to raise $100 million from the business world, philanthropists and sovereign states to help provide everyone at risk in Africa with anti-malaria tools by the end of 2010—the first critical step to ending nearly one million annual malaria deaths (and Malaria No More’s primary goal). Bill and Melinda Gates and British PM Gordon Brown joined us as special guests at the launch reception.

Thanks to our co-chairs and the need for sound investment in a troubled time, we’re galvanizing the private sector to make a difference—and getting down to business in the fight against malaria.
